Louis Vuitton meets Yayoi Kusama!

What it is
Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist. The collection is full of Kusama’s obsession: dot patterns in the colors red, yellow and black. The collection consists a lot of bags, shoes, coats, pants and more pieces of clothes.
The warehouse ‘Selfridges’ in Londen is the only place  in big city were the collection is avaible and it will be only avaible from August till 1 october. The concept store from Louis Vuitton in Selfridges is completely transformed like a kind of fairytale and I was there to see it!

Why it’s cool
I think this collaboration and the collection is very unique. This is the largest store collaboration ever at Selfridges. Like I said before, whole Selfridges was in the spell of this collaboration. 24 windows of Selfridges were taking over by Kasuma, it was looking amazing! But it was not only the windows, also the whole first floor was in the spell of this cooperation. On top of the first floor was a gigantic statue of the Japanese artits, which was  like 13 foot tall and with a weight over a halve tonne. The walls, floors and display cabinets were also recovered with a lot of polka dots. Giant lamps hung over the display tables and you saw Japanese signs everywhere.

I think Louise Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama did a very great job. The collection was very exclusive and unique. It’s very awesome to see that you can turn a warehouse as Selfridges completely to your hand. There was no way you could ignore this collaboration, Selfridges was completely captivated by Louise Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama, I had never seen anyting like this before.
